Details: Panati means mud diya derived from south India. These were usually lit during the Dasara festival. Just like Copper, Brass and silver, mud is also considered to be auspicious. In India lamp are lit daily twice, once in morning and in the evening signifying the ignorance of darkness. But Dasara being the most important among all is popular for lighting diya and keeping it burning continuously for ten days. It is said that Pandavas destroyed Kauravas stating victory over evil.
